Disco Dreams

Last night, as I was watching Top Chef and winding down for the evening, my neighbors decided to begin what sounded like a disco-rave. The volume of the music wasn’t obnoxiously loud but the bass that was pumping through the walls was getting on my nerves. I wasn’t sure what to do about it: A. I could call security B. I could knock on their door and ask they turn it down C. I could write them a note and go unnoticed or D. Do nothing.

I didn’t want to be “that neighbor” and it was only 9:30pm – while I’m a Grandma and was getting ready for bed, it’s not like it was the wee hours of the morning. I went with option D, did nothing and went to bed. I had no problem falling asleep – maybe my body likes falling asleep to the beats of Tiesto :) … hopefully this isn’t a regular occurrence, I might have to resort to options A, B or C.

After dreaming of strobe lights and glow sticks :) I headed to the gym this morning and completed the following:

  • 10 minutes of intervals at an incline of 5, alternating between 1 minute @4.0 with 1 minute @6.5
  • 10 minutes @7 at an incline of 1
  • Squats (20 x 2)
  • Bicep curls (10 lbs, 15 reps x 2)
  • Lawn mower (10 lbs, 5 reps x 2)
  • Ab twists w/ medicine ball (8 lbs, 20 reps x 2)
  • Plank hold (60 seconds x 2)
  • Pushups (15 x 2)

While my workout went great, breakfast did not go as smoothly. I didn’t have enough yogurt left for a TC Special (oh the horror) so I decided on an omelet with bell peppers, toast and an apple. Sounds simple but when you get distracted by reading blogs while trying to cook eggs and toast bread you end up with ….

Burnt eggs and toast! My omelet transformed into an egg scramble, not the best looking breakfast but it tasted great! Good thing I like my eggs well done :)

I’m ready to speed through this work day – it’s my friend’s birthday today and we’re going out do dinner to celebrate! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA!
